The Bible tells us that "Children are a heritage from the Lord". I BELIEVE THAT! God has blessed Tonya and I with 2 great kids, a wonderful daughter-in-law and 2 of the best grandkids that any 'Papaw' could ever want. I get more and more joy out of my grandkids every time that I see them. They have a way or wrapping themselves around your heart and always warming your insides.Yesterday, on my way home from Corydon, Indiana, we got the news of our newest granddaughter Abigail being taken to the hospital for tests. She had been running a 101 fever, which the Dr said that was very unusual for infants. Well, Meme came from Mt. Vernon and I came right there from my travels to St. Mary's. She ended up getting stuck on each arm and foot, twice on most of them. Then they ordered a spinal tap - yikes! Well, it didn't work in the ER so they tried again upstairs after admitting her. Needless to say Papaw was ready for this to be over. Well, finally it was and now the wait is on for any cultures to grow.
I know that kids can be truly resilient, but it hurts when you see your kids/grandkids hurting. I believe the same goes for our Heavenly Father. He said;
Luke 17:2, "It would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were thrown into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones".
God keeps track of us all! His love is so far reaching that we could never be lost from His sight. That you Lord for the joy of having grandkids. I thought I wasn't ready for them when they came, but I warmed up to it very nicely!
Lovin Being Papaw,
MT
