30 years ago today, at Calvary Temple A/G (11 W. Iowa Street) in Evansville IN, Tonya and I stood before our God and our Pastor (Rev. Victor Schoerer) and committed our lives to each other. Today, April 21, 2009 is our 30th Anniversary. I'm of the age now (50), to where you start celebrating anniversaries and birthdays that all seem to be big numbers. I guess that all comes with age.I have had so many blessings in my life. Children, grandchildren, family, my church family and so many friends that we have met throughout the world. But, I would not have any of that without God blessing me with a wonderful wife in Tonya.
We met at Calvary Temple in the early 70's. We started dating when she was in the 8th grade and I was a freshman. Our first date? It was when I ask her to sit with me in church, we were too young to car date. 5 years to the day after that first church service, we were standing on platform vowing our lives together. Since that day, we have been blessed by a wonderful family: Brooke our oldest, Weston and his wife Ashley and 2 wonderful grand-daughters named Amariah & Abigail. WE ARE SO BLESSED!
Tonya I love you today more than at any other time in our walk together through life - I even like ya :-). Thank you for standing by me and supporting me through every season of our lives. You have stayed by my side and I love you for everything. But I believe that the best is yet to come! Tonya, thank you for 30 wonderful years and I wouldn't trade any of them for anything in return.
